Loblaws Superstore

Loblaw Companies Limited is Canada’s largest food distributor and a leading provider of general merchandise, drugstore and financial products and services.

Application

The superstores are configured with a series of short windows along one side of the building. The windows are all situated close to the ceiling making them manually inoperable. There was also a requirement for little staff intervention in operation of the shades.

Product

A sunscreen fabric was selected with an automated operation. For automation control, sun sensors were used to allow the shades to be lowered when the solar energy was detected.
