Contemplating wallpaper solutions for my rental apartment last week got me thinking about my biggest decorating problem: the windows. They are massive and awkward, run right to the ceiling and are framed in metal. Public Art Opening: “In the Moment”

The District of Saanich would like to announce the addition of a work of art to the Saanich public art inventory. The work of art will be installed at the Gordon Head Recreation Centre as the final component of the renovation completed in March 2010. A public art competition for the project started in December 2009. The Jury for the project chose a work of art that addresses the broad theme of “Multiculturalism & Community”. Fran Baskerville, an artist who works in a variety of drawing and painting medium, created the work of art chosen for the site. Her original work was digitally scanned and then printed on a 10% open window covering fabric by SunGlow Window Coverings. The art work on the shades provides a colourful sunshade.
